Chuwi Hi12 US$299

Image
Twitter : Briefly: Quad-core Cherry Trail Z8300 CPU at 1.44Ghz, 4GBs RAM, 64GBs of internal storage (microSD can add another 64GBs), full-size USB 2.x and USB 3.0 ports. The big selling point is the 12-inch IPS 2:3-ratio screen at 2160 x 1440. See the tweets from the Chuwi Hi12 début at  their Twitter page . See the English-language listing at  their website . I’m a bit shocked by the US$299 price. I expected it to be at least US$100 more. I look forward to user reports about it and a review by  TECHTablets . Here is Chuwi’s rather silly YouTube video: I’m surprised to see Chuwi as the first China tablet maker to make inroads into the U.S.. I expected Teclast to be first. Chuwi will live Tweet the launch of the Chuwi Hi12 on Jan 28th In an interesting move, tablet maker Chuwi have decided to live Tweet the launch of their 12-inch Chuwi Hi12 dual-boot tablet. Ok live Tweeting isn’t new, but it’s a big step for a Chinese manufacturer and points to the amount of importance Chuwi sees their international market has for them. Chuwi have been around for years in the Chinese tablet space, but is only recently that they have really started to look outside of the local market and set their sights internationally. The fact that they are using Twitter (despite being blocked in China) to unveil their new products is great news for us international fans. The Chuwi Hi12 tablet is a Intel Cherry Tail equipped 12-inch tablet which will ship with Windows 10. Chuwi will release a standard version and a model with stylus plus plan to release a dual-boot system letting the user opt for either an Android or Windows work environment. Check out the  Ch...

CHUWI Vi10 – a 10.6-inch dual OS tablet for only $129

Source: http://cngadget.info/2015/05/14/chuwi-vi10-a-10-6-inch-dual-os-tablet-for-only-129/ As the OS switching becomes easier, budget Windows tablets are gradually disappearing, replaced by the more versatile dual OS slates, the CHUWI Vi10 is another one of those dual boot tablets. Featuring a 10.6-inch IPS Panel (1366*768px) while carrying a street price of RMB799 ($129), it is probably the cheapest Dual OS/WIndows tablet this size. Besides the all familiar hardware set-up for budget Windows 8/Dual OS tablets, by which we mean the Intel Bay-trail Z3735F quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and 32GB eMMc internal storage. CHUWI actually strives to be ahead of the curve. The rear side of the Vi10 is made of toughened glass, which gives the tablet a pretty premium look. Also, the slate has two full-size USB2.0 ports, which make it easier to connect to input and mobile storage devices. Fortunately the full USB ports don’t add much extra thickness to the Vi10...

Chuwi Vi8 Super Edition released – First dual OS tablet with live switching between Android 4.4 and Windows 8.1

Image
Lots of Intel powered tablets have been released this year, running either Android OS or Windows 8.1, only very few of them could dual-boot both OS. Even those tablets which do support dual-booting normally require people to shutdown from one operating system before switching to the other. Fortunately, the newly released  Chuwi Vi8 Super Edition  makes switching between two systems much easier for its users. According to Chuwi, the Vi8 Super Edition tablet only requires users one touch on the screen to switch from Android 4.4 to Windows 8.1, or the other way around. Which is a huge step forward from some of the RAMOS dual-booting tablets released earlier this year, which requires users to shut the tablet down and then boot into another OS. The Chuwi Vi8 Super Edition features an 8-inch IPS display at the resolution of 1280*800, an Intel Atom Bay-trail Z3735F quad-core X86 processor, 2GB RAM and 32GB eMMc internal storage. It is now on sale for only RMB549 ($8...

The CHUWI Vi8 runs authorized Windows 8.1 out of the box, and is also preinstalled with Office365, which will be totally free for 1 year.
